What channels like this one look like

Channels can add their stats to a shared pool, off by default. The pool is where the reference readings on every dashboard come from — the typical views, subscribers, uploads, CTR, traffic mix, and retention for a cohort of similar channels. Aggregates never name a channel.

Where these numbers come from

Each row is one cohort cell: channels grouped by size, age, and upload shape, and the median of that group’s value for the window named on the row. The shaded band is the middle half of the group — the quarter above and the quarter below the median — and it is drawn only where both of those are stored.

These cells are drawn from 2+ channels. The number is a floor, not a tally — the exact membership of a cohort is never stored.

A channel joins the pool only when its owner turns it on, and turning it off deletes its contributed data on the next daily build. Public pooled channels are listed by name on the directory; the numbers here name no one.
