Terms of use

Open Channel Stats is a dashboard a creator builds for their own YouTube channel. These terms cover using the site and connecting a channel. They are short by design; the companion Privacy page covers what data the app reads and how it is held.

Agreeing to these terms

Using the site means accepting these terms and the terms of the services it is built on.

  • Using the site

By using Open Channel Stats you agree to these terms of use. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

  • YouTube and Google

Open Channel Stats uses YouTube API Services. By using it, you also agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Your use of Google services is also subject to the Google Privacy Policy.

What you connect, and control

Connecting is read-only, and visibility stays the owner’s choice.

  • Your own channel, read-only

Connecting signs you in with Google and grants read-only access to your own channel’s data — its catalog and its owner-only analytics. The app reads these to build your dashboard; it cannot upload, edit, or delete anything on your channel.

  • You control visibility

Your dashboard is private — visible only to you, signed in — by default. You may choose to make your own channel public, to share its stats and videos with other creators. You can disconnect at any time, which revokes access and deletes the stored data; the Privacy page describes what is read, stored, and deleted in full.

Using it responsibly

A short line on the boundaries of fair use.

  • Fair use

Use the site for its purpose: reviewing channels whose owners have connected them. Do not attempt to access data that is not yours, disrupt the service, or use it to harass or target anyone.

The basics

What the site promises, what it doesn’t, and how it changes.

  • Provided as is

The site is provided as is, without warranty. Figures shown include projections and other derived measures — estimates, not guarantees, and not endorsed by YouTube or Google.

  • Changes and contact

These terms may be updated; the current version is always the one on this page. Questions go to [email protected].

The companion surfaces

These terms sit beside the privacy note and the help pages. Each names a different part of what the site is, what it reads, and what it can and can't say.
